For a newly arrived international student in Australia, it can be difficult to adjust in the new environment, new culture & new system. Landing to a job can be much harder than expected if you do not have anyone to support and guide you.
Here are some of my tips to land in your first job in Adelaide:
- Prepare Your Resume & Cover Letter
First step in your job hunt is to make one generic Resume & Cover Letter. You can find some samples of Resume & Cover Letter in some job listing platforms such as Seek.com.

- Visit Popular Job Search Platform & Apply
After preparing a generic resume & cover letter, search for a job in your desired industry on different job listing platforms such as Seek.com, Indeed.com, Jora.com. Based on the requirement of the job vacancy, tailor your resume and cover letter and then apply from their portal. I would recommend applying as soon as you see the job vacancy post on their website.
You can apply for jobs through different job agencies as well. Some of the popular agencies to visit are Chandler Macleod, APG Workforce, Ranstad. They regularly advertise multiple vacancies in their own website and job search platforms listed above.
